Her Story: Kat Armstrong

her |həː, hə| pronoun 1 used as the object of a verb or preposition to refer to a female person: Her passion for the Word of God was inspiring.

We had such an incredible time last night at Equipped by Faith with our friend and returning speaker, Kat Armstrong!

Kat is a dynamic speaker, leader, writer, and Co-Founder of Polished Ministries—but she is known all over the nation for encouraging women to love God and others with their all! She teaches the Bible with humor and heart. She engages disconnected women exploring God with the relevance of the scriptures, commissions rooted Christians to flourish in their God-inspired assignment and refocuses the Church to outreach. And you can order her new book here: No More Holding Back: Emboldening Women to Move Past Worth, and Serve God Everywhere!

But what we love about Kat is her passionate love for the Word of God and heart for encouraging other women to be all God has created them to be.

Read more about Kat’s heart in our interview below!

Q&A with Kat Armstrong

1. What do you think you were put on this earth for? What is your biggest dream?

To embolden women to be all-in for Jesus.

2. What are some of the obstacles you have had to go through to get to this point?

Being looked down upon because I am a woman Bible teacher.

3. What motivates or inspires you?

The sheroes of the Bible inspire me. They were incredible women of God!

4. What do you want to be remembered for?

That when people got to know me better, they had a desire to read the Bible more.

5. What advice would you give other women searching for their purpose, passion, & faith?

I think it's important to know the difference between an assignment and a calling. Our assignments change over time but our calling is to Jesus, for Jesus, and with Jesus. :)

6. What has been your greatest achievement in life?

Starting Polished Ministries and writing No More Holding Back.

7. How does what you do reflect what God placed on your heart to share with the world?

On a daily basis, I'm trying to help women see how their faith and work connect.

8. What books are you reading?

I'm reading Glenn Kreider's Theological Primer and David Alter's The Art of the Biblical Narrative and the Nice book by Sharon Miller.

9. How do you stay encouraged & faith-filled?

By listening to other women's stories about how God is changing their lives :)

10. Favorite scripture of the moment (or ever)?

2 Corinthians 3:4-5, “We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.”

Thank you, Kat! It was so good to see you again!!!

Remember to mark your calendars for next month’s first Wednesday gathering for a special friends and family night on Wednesday, November 6th!
