I always look forward to spending the first Wednesday of the month with some of my closest girlfriends--sharing prayer requests, personal stories, reports of God's faithfulness and being encouraged by the Biblical truth we are reading and studying that week at our Equipped by Faith women's fellowship.

This month, our guest speaker was Kat Armstrong from Houston, Texas. Kat is a beautiful communicator, writer, non-profit director, entrepreneur, pastor's wife and mother to an adorable three year old named, Caleb.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kat when I spoke at one of her non-profit women's events called, Polished last February. Polished is a community of young professional women who gather together each month for community and fellowship. The monthly luncheons feature inspiring guest speakers, and I always look forward to attending each month!

Last night, Kat brought an incredible word called, "God with Us" that touched and inspired every life in the room. She walked us through story after story in the Bible where it proves and shows that God is always "with us".

I took some notes on my favorite things she said, and shared them with you below!

Enjoy!

God is a "With Us" Kind of God

All throughout the Bible, we see that God is "with us". From Genesis to Revelation, God is making it clear that he will never leave or forsake us. God is always present with us, in the same way, a king inhabits his throne room in his kingdom.

In Genesis Ch. 3 God shows Adam and Eve that he is with them through the wind, the sound of his voice and his footsteps. Even after sin entered the picture, God stays present with the people of God in the wilderness as a cloud by day and a fire by night--staying with the Israelites for 40 years!

Even after the 40 years in the desert, God was "with" the Israelites by moving His presence through the temple. God has always been, Emanuel, God with us, and it is manifested throughout the scripture!

The people of God have always faced their future by KNOWING that God is "with us"…

In Genesis Ch. 39, Pharaoh was choosing Joseph to be second in command because he said, "God is with Joseph". That's why he was chosen!

In Genesis Ch. 46, when Jacob is afraid and about to flee his country, God says, "I will be with you, Jacob", and that gives him the courage to face his fears.

When David was trying to convince Saul that he could defeat the giant, Goliath, in 1 Samuel Ch. 17, he said, "I can do it. I can face the enemy because God is going to be with me."

God is the "with us" God, and through these stories, we can have the confidence we need to believe that He is with us too!

God with Us in the Flesh: Jesus

Mathew, Mark, Luke and John are all eyewitnesses of Jesus being "with us". They took the time to record their experiences with Him and the miracles and wonders He displayed on the earth.

These letters describe how God has become a part of His creation through Jesus. God in the flesh has now come to be with us. Even after His death and resurrection, God is with us forever by giving us the Holy Spirit in John 14.

"If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads in all truth." John 14:15-17

God is With You, Until the Very End

Many of us feel orphaned in our circumstances right now. All hell seems to be breaking loose in your life, and you feel left alone by God. But God cannot and will not leave us, because he is the "with us" God. From Genesis to Revelation, he is there--from beginning to end!

"Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." Revelation 21:3-7

We are seeing amazing things happen each month at Equipped by Faith with the special ladies who attend. Prayers are being answered and people are being healed. Often times, the prayer requests and testimonies of God's faithfulness last twice as long as the message does--and I am completely fine with that!

I love seeing that God is moving in our midst. When you make space for Him to move, He will always show up in a big way. I see it each month in the lives of these ladies!

I hope you were as encouraged by Kat's word as I was. Praying for each of you today as you rest in the goodness of the God that is "with you" always. He loves you more than you will ever know!

XO-

Sabrina
