1. How are you pursuing your God-given purpose and destiny? And what is one thing you would say to encourage someone trying to pursue their God-given purpose today?

In pursuit of my God-given purpose, the first thing I do every morning before I get out of bed to begin my day is I thank God for all of his blessings and His continued favor in my life.

Our gratefulness toward Him early in the morning sets our day for healthy conversation, empathy toward others, and the ability to sincerely love people. Whether our job is our dream career or simply a platform to pay our bills, We know we are in that position to use our influence for the greater good. Simple acts of kindness and respect for the people we are serving leads toward open opportunities to live out our calling.

What we would say to someone trying to pursue their God-given purpose is to simply remember that it is God-given, therefore you don’t have to figure out how it can be done. Your job is to simply believe that God wants to support, finance, and resource your destiny.

2. What motivates or inspires you?

What motivates us is being a catalyst for change and growth in the lives of people who are living below the threshold of abundance. We are motivated by exhorting people to live their best life, grow closer to God, and live out their destiny. We recently had a person reach out to us via social media. She shared that she had stumbled onto our Facebook page at a time when she was contemplating suicide. She has suffered from depression for years and was without hope this particular day, when God sent her to view our Facebook Live Videos and past radio show topics. She shared, “I just really wanted both of you to know you helped save my life. I found the hope and encouragement I needed to live another day.” This is just some of what inspires us and motivates us to keep walking in obedience to Him.

3. What books and podcasts are you currently reading and listening to that are helping you to continue growing and learning?

4. Tell us more about Anticipate Joy and how you are using this to make an impact in Market Place Ministry.

We have been clinical psychologists for over 10 years and for many of those years we worked in the federal prison system. Then God called us into radio and we hosted a radio show called “The Sweet I AM” for a year as we fumbled in faith in a space we knew nothing about. Nevertheless, we operated in obedience, all the while knowing that God had a purpose even though we didn’t understand it at the time. Then God began to unfold His vision for Anticipate Joy, an innovative mental wellness company that supports personal growth and healing through online professional counseling and training. Anticipate Joy, our online professional counseling platform, projected to launch mid-2019, and we couldn't be more excited to see what God will do through us. Through our obedience to Him, He has opened up opportunities to speak at workshops, conferences, and in more intimate small group settings.

5. What do you love about Equipped by Faith?

We love the spirit of community and connection that creates a space for transparency and authenticity at Equipped by Faith. As psychologists, we value places where walls of vulnerability can be removed so people can achieve closure, healing, hope, and love. Equipped by Faith is disarming, walls fall and vulnerabilities are exposed without fear of judgment—and from this space personal and spiritual growth is gained. In addition, we love the welcoming atmosphere that you feel the second you step foot into an EBF gathering. There is no doubt everyone has a seat at the table, and we love the genuine kindness we felt as visitors, and how we quickly felt the sisterhood. This is what we love about Equipped by Faith.
